Phaphra Sheikh is a clan which is basically from Pindi Bhattian and is a very small clan. They are now settled in Punjab in big cities like Faisalabad, Lahore and Gujranwala.
They said that they are descendents of Phaphra, which came here with the great Mughal emperor Babur. Early on, they settled near the Salt range, which laterally called Phaphra. They are called the owner of that state. Then in the eighteenth century they came to Pindi Bhattian, because of the British army killing the Muslim Rulers at that time The Indian War of Independence –1857. A large number of peoples which are living in the village of Phaphra near Pind Dadan Khan are called Mughal Phaphras due to their coming here with the Mughals or descendants of Mughals.
They were strong warriors in time periods of war but now in modern times they are known to be very enterprising and traditionally a mercantile community. Their traditions are also very much similar to the Chinioty Sheikhs (known as Khoja's) because of their intermarrying with them and living together. That's why they are also known as Chinioty Sheikhs. They also serve the country with their remarkable services.
